Cocktail of the week - "The White Lady"
The White Lady is one of the most iconic gin cocktails, part of the Sour family. It’s debated who created it, be it Harry MacElhone in 1919 or Harry Craddock at the Savoy a bit later, who included it in his 1930 Savoy Cocktail Book. In the 1930s, the White Lady was favoured so much that a pre-bottled version of it was sold!
Prepared with gin, cointreau and lemon juice, it is also believed to be Hardy's favourite drink. The special ingredient? A surprising dash of egg white to bind the cocktail together and give a smooth and silky finish.
