Gillray’s Steakhouse & Bar is situated on the banks of the River Thames with views of the London Eye, Houses of Parliament & Big Ben. Our menu features locally sourced and seasonal produce at its best. We source the majority of our products from within 150 miles of the restaurant using Kent and Essex based farms.


Sylvain Chevereau

Sylvain joins Gillray’s in February 2016 from nearby St. Ermin’s Hotel, a member of Marriott Hotels’ Autograph Collection, where he was Executive Chef, playing an instrumental role in establishing the award-winning Caxton Grill with MasterChef: The Professionals finalist Adam Handling, which has gone on to achieve 3 AA Rosettes.

Building on his hospitality training in France at the 4 AA-starred Chateau La Chaire in Jersey and the 2-Michelin starred L’Auberge des Templiers in Sologne, Sylvain has gone on to work at a range of well-established hotels including The Lancaster Hotel and K-West Hotel in London and The Balmoral Hotel in Scotland.

Prime Cuts


Wilkin & Sons preservers and fruit growers since 1885 have an extensive farm next to the Tiptree jam factory in the Essex countryside.  Soft fruit, stone fruit and speciality fruit such as quince and medlars are grown for the fresh fruit market and for jam making; it’s a great treat to walk through the orchard of dark juicy cherries and to be able to eat one straight from the tree.  

The traditional methods of making fine preserves have been passed down through the generations ensuring that quality ingredients are always used to make the preserves of good taste.  We are very proud to work with Tiptree Farm in Essex to provide the very best seasonal produce at its peak to create our delicious desserts.
